Ed's Bird Sanctuary is a tribute to the artist’s Father, his green thumb and his love of birds.

“A love for gardening and ornithology is something my parents always shared. Growing up, we always had fresh flowers in our house that were picked from the yard. My dad kept every bird feeder filled with vigilance. There was a constant ballet of wild birds in our back yard performing for us every morning at the breakfast table. Squirels and our cat (Midnight) were the only element of threat. Solution: Ed greased the poles of the bird feeders and put a jingle bell collar on the cat providing an area of refuge where birds could dine in peace. The pink flamingo was an aesthetic addition during my high school years.” Laura Loving
