Loving unveils her recent works inspired by the Bally's 2016 Autumn Winter Collection along with pieces from her most celebrated series on this special evening.
This is a private event. You must RSVP to attend.
We’re all about the weekends here at Upstater, because there’s no better place to spend them than in the Hudson Valley and Catskills. Part-time Hudson Valley resident and artist Laura Loving feels the same way, which is why her solo show at the Greene County Council on the Arts in Catskill is appropriately called “Escape from New York: Weekends in the Hudson Valley.” Loving, who has lived in NYC for 16 years and became a part-time Hudson resident in 2014, features works based on her favorite landmarks in the Hudson Valley as seen through the “rose-tinted view of a weekender,” according to website.
Loving’s show opens Saturday, June 11 and runs through July 23, 2016 in the GCCA upstairs gallery located at 398 Main Street, Catskill. “Escape from New York” runs concurrently with GCCA’s group show Faces and Facades. Both Loving and the group artists will be at the opening reception Saturday, June 11th, 5-7pm. For more information on this and future exhibits, visit www.greenearts.org.
Our prints on paper are printed on 100% cotton acid-free paper with archival inks. We use fine art quality printers and the color is spot on. Each print has a 2 inch white border around the image and they are shipped rolled in a tube. Please email or call us for any additional details or to answer any questions. That is what we are here for. Email firstname.lastname@example.org and phone 347.249.4525.
GCCA is thrilled to present its next group exhibit: Words & Images – the Art of Storytelling. Featuring the work of over a dozen local and international artists, Words and Images will include animated short films, graphic novels, illustrations, sculptures, photographs, zines, as well as mixed media.
At the center of the exhibit is the international debut of graphic novel “The Industrialist,” story by Burton C. Bell, lead singer of Fear Factory, illustrations by British illustrator Noel Guard. The Industrialist novel is intended as a companion piece to Fear Factory’s latest concept album The Industrialist.
Bell and Guard are joined in the exhibit by artists Aaron Augenblick and Mati Kütt, Abigael Puritz, Alicia Burnett, Brian Dewan, Dina Bursztyn, Joanne Van Genderen, John Akre, Joseph Reilly, Laura Loving, Matt Bua, Matthew Pleva, Paul Barton, Robert Tomlinson, and Scott Keidong.
Words and Images will be on view from April 23 through June 4, 2016 with an opening reception on Saturday, April 23 from 5-7pm at Greene County Council on the Arts gallery, 398 Main Street, Catskill, NY.
Sharing her art for the benefit of others is important to Laura. She has donated work to more than 100 nonprofit organizations, including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, T.J. Martell Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and Food Fight. This April, Laura's work will be included in the following NYC Auctions.
